My new favorite restaurant in Walnut Grove! It's a small small restaurant. Servers and sushi chef are very friendly and have awesome service. Food is ready! And they usually give you some extra sushi. My favorite is their dinner box! Highly recommend!

Happy, cozy atmosphere with superhero themed decor. Service is polite. Efficient. Nice it comes your own teapot at the table. Menu offerings a little nicer such as having sunomono with an evening bento box. The sushi, however was only ok. Rice is too pasty; tempera batter hard and crusty, instead of light; gyoza was too salty and had hardened edges. Nice place for locals to get a nice atmosphere with good service, but not so much if you are looking for nice, soft elegant rice sushi, or light tempera.

Best sushi in town. Kind and friendly staff. Extremely large selection of items. You can taste the quality and they even gave us sample rolls throughout our evening on the house. Well done.

I tried Akane on the advice of a family member who lives in Walnut Grove. It's just take out due to Covid but I wasn't disappointed! Family owned and operated, which I'm always happy to support and the food was delicious. The chef tucked a couple of extra's into my order that were a lovely surprise. Portions are good, fresh and well presented. I'll be stopping in again the next time I'm in the Grove.

Happened to be in Langley and checked out this place for my lunch. Have to say I was really surprised with how good the quality was and very good hospitality. No attitude like some other popular sushi place in Burnaby & Vancouver. They have couple off menu items from the pictures that we tried were awesome. Salmon, toro & Tuna were very fresh, and price is very reasonable. Highly recommend this place in Langley, a must try.

Great little Japanese restaurant. Delicious food and great portion size. The tempura was light and not greasy. The rolls are tasty. Ordered the dinner box great options!

We were visiting from Toronto and really enjoyed the food and great service at Akane. Everything we ordered was very tasty and came out quickly. Definitely recommend this place for Japanese meals. Thank you Akane staff for making our experience at your restaurant memorable.

Definitely my favourite place for sushi in the Lower Mainland! The family that runs it is so sweet and the sushi is fantastic. Never had a bad experience in four years of going here. If you order at busy times you may have a bit of a wait (like any other place) but it’s totally worth it!! I can’t comment on the warm food but my family loves their rolls (especially salmon, dynamite, house) and sashimi.

Akane has always been my #1 sushi restaurant, period. The staff are practically family to us. It’s weird to see the sideshow collectables and marvel photos, but the food and service are so good that you barely even notice!

First went as a young teen and I've never found a better sushi place. Great quality food and such wonderful service! I've long since moved out of Walnut Grove, but I miss this place every time I order sushi. Yam roll and miso soup was always my go-to combo. My love of sushi started here! Thank you Akane!

This place is my husbands and I's favorite. If we say we want sushi, we mean Akane Sushi. This is the best place in Langley, and I've been to a lot of places looking for something better, there just isn't. And with the price it just can't be beat.

This place is fantastic, we are so lucky to have this little gem of a sushi restaurant in our neighborhood. The owners and staff are always super friendly and the sushi is always great.

Outstanding authentic Japanese sushi, fantastic service and a great atmosphere... if you're a Marvel fan you'll be in for a treat... definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a great sushi experience 10/10 :)

The special rolls we got were delicious, and tempura dishes fresh and tasty. Service was also very good, the food came quickly. Glad I found this gem in Langley, and we will be back!

Pretty good sushi, moderate prices. New menu (2020) included in my post. Their spicy salmon roll was great! Service fast, takeout service lovely. Sadly they didn’t accept tap, and required a chip card insert for payment despite having a tap enabled machine. I hope they rectify this soon considering the concerns about covid and touching the same device as other people.

I just got into sushi, and this place did it for me. My wife’s been a regular for some time, and finally she got me to try it. SO delicious. Everyone working here is so kind. Also love the superhero decor in the restaurant!Update - I wrote this review over a year ago, and it’s honestly still just such a top notch place. We get takeout from here every 1-2 weeks. We’ve tried other sushi places around town, and nothing has ever compared to Akane!

Always a decent Japanese meal in the walnut Grove area. Akane is quick and on point for the typical Japanese restaurant. It is definitely our go to spot for Japanese near the industrial area. The staff are friendly and the food is always good.

Has always and will always be my ALL TIME favourite sushi place! I've been going here for years now, the staff is so sweet and friendly and the food is delicious. They almost always add a free roll which has helped me to better explore their menu.

I’ve been going here for years, and it’s amazing every single time. The food is all delicious and great quality, and the staff are extremely friendly. I always leave smiling, whether eating in or taking out. They include bonus specials just for fun, and seem to really take pride in their work. Hard to say enough good things about this place!

First visit but very impressed with their well presented and delicious food. Sushi is fresher and the workers are very frendly than any other sushi restaurants in Surrey and Langley. We ordered deluxe sashimi, tempura udon, shrimp sunomono and we were very satisfied with the quality. Surprisingly, we got gomae and 2pc seared toro sushi on the house. Definitely this restaurant will be the place to go for Japanese food. Thank you owner.

Moved out of town and came back for a quick bite on the way to Vancouver. We were reminded once again what a “gem” this place is. The best spicy tuna and futomaki!!A must try!

I love this place! My mother goes every week and they know her order. They are also cheerful and fantastic! The sushi is awesome, definitely my favourite place in Langley. Went in today for my birthday and they made me a plate of the BEST sushi with Happy Birthday written on the plate. I love this place.

Hands down the best sushi in Langley. My favourite spot for sushi growing up. Mr. Min is a great cook and great person.

Prawn tempura and miso were good..I tried a dynamite roll which had yam in it..a lot of yam...not recommended...had 2 pieces and when I told them I didn't care for it they just stared at me and waited for me to pay the entire bill. So i did..I'll complain with my feet !!!

It's a pretty decent sushi restaurant in this side of the bridge. The meal portions are generous for the price. Most of their sushi rolls contain fried yam though which was a bit weird at first. The owners are quite generous about giving complimentary rolls on the house from time to time.The karage is definitely done Korean style from the breading they used and a bit lacking in taste. The sashimi seemed fresh enough. Overall, it's a good place for sushi given the other choices around here are even more lacking.
